Talking about my pilgrimage towards practicing His presence.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Vision and Reality

Where does our reality meet our visions? Where do they become one?
Two roads joining, joying our hearts, our dreams becoming true. How
does all we hope for become reality. The answer is easy, it's grace,
but what does that mean for our lives? This question I'm pondering
almost every day right now! Knowing the calling and adopting the
desires of God for your lives is harder than not knowing at all. I'm
not saying it's something bad, but the problem I'm addressing is of
our human nature to try make things become reality on our own. When
it's about a business plan or something of that kind we might have
the ability to do that, but with heavenly things it is impossible,
because the only one who gives and takes life is God. Building Gods
kingdom is a matter of life, and it is where all our desires lie, a
life full of life. I was often told that the ultimate happiness comes
when we walk in our calling, so I though if I'm a missionary or
something I'll experience the fullness of life, I realize now that
this I total twisted thinking! We are called to live daily close to
the Lord and let him breathe life into the little dead things that
surround us and intoxicate our thoughts. Then we experience freedom
and the fullness of his promises. This must become a crucial part of
our pilgrimage.

Hey, buddy, good to see your blogging again. Couple things I read here that I wanted to pick up on: You mentioned the need for grace in make things become reality, and you're right on this, but I think it does also include things like a business plan. God's grace is an all-encompassing thing, it's not restricted to just the "spiritual" things. I think in order for any of our actions to be truly successful, we need to lay them at God's feet and ask for His wisdom so that it may all be infused with His grace and therefore done to His glory.

The second thing I thought about when I read this ties into that, just that we need to make all of life--every little aspect--done to His glory. This includes things as little as brushing our teeth or frying eggs. There is never anything that is separate from God. Thinking that creates a dualism of secular/spiritual that we as Christians need to so boldly reject!

Good thoughts, Luke!

Hey Jake, thank you for your cool comment.
I totaly agree with you, there's no action we do, or no thought we think that is less or more spiritual. I know that in my head, but often I seperate them how I live. Thought's like "Uh that was really spiritual" are often in my mind. And to have a single mind on theese things is crutial for our walk with god, and expirience freedom in lifes. As I said its not always easy.
What I meant, with the busines plan, is that we can do things that seem verry successfull and good, but God is not behind it. Like leading a church, but God acctualy wants us somewhere else. We can do "good" things on our own and it might look like it's from God, but in the end it's dead.
